Language Learning Journal (week 6)

First week with my LLP

All college students must develop their English language skills to succeed in the English courses. I’m one from these students and I want to be a successful student in my English courses. To achieve this goal I made many strategies in my helpless skills to develop myself in English language such as, vocabulary and reading skill. In the first week I choose three strategies from my learning language plan. The first strategy was from the vocabulary skill, the second strategy was from the reading skill, and the third strategy was from the listening skill.
The first skill was the vocabulary development. I made a vocabulary notebook and wrote the new words in it. Also, I research about their meaning in the dictionary. I learned their part of speech to write correct sentence. The notebook remembered me the new words when I wrote and spoke. Also, I understood the general English texts faster than in the past. The second skill was the reading skill. I watched Survivors movie which had a translation in English. I was reading the translation quickly to not lose any sentence. That way was useful for my reading speed. I think I will read faster and faster in the future. However, I lost some sentences when I was watching the movie so I will watch that movie again to understand it more than now. The third skill was the listening skill. I used Active Listening English program. That program was very beneficial to me in long conversation. In addition, the Active Listening English program helped me to understand the different English accents. However, it didn’t benefit me in taking notes from the lecturers in listening exams. In the second week, I will play vocabulary game (Crossword challenge) in my laptop. In addition, I will read story (Far From the Madding Crowd) and I will use reading program (Read Up-Speed Up). For there more, I will watch English movie (Fruit basket) and I will take some notes from this movie to improve my listening skill.
